Competition Call for Entries starts Monday 22 April 2024 at 9am AEST and ends Monday 20 May 2024 at 5pm.

FULL TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. Information on how to enter and the prize form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  2. The ‘Promoter’ of this competition is Pooches at Play Pty Ltd (registered business address: PO Box 7338 Brighton VIC 3186. ABN 33 149 753 551) on behalf of The Dog Down Under (TDDU) digital campaign and TV series.
  3. The official competition entry process commences at 9am AEST and ends Monday 20 May 2024 at 5pm.(“Promotional Period”).
  4. For an entry to be valid and considered for a finalist prize the entrant must:
  1. Provide all required contact information and supporting documentation, videos or photos and descriptive text as outlined for each category.
  2. Select one to three categories for entry, and supply supporting materials and descriptive text specific to each category.
  3. Agree to have all materials and information supplied shared on social media, for publicity and TV series content if selected.
  4. If selected as a Finalist or Overall Winner agree to appear with your dog and share your story in interviews with the media/publicity opportunities and on the Television Episode relevant to categories entered. If this is not possible, then a family member or friend that is able to stand in for the owner with their dog will be considered.
  5. Be an Australian Resident
  1. The Dog Down Under competition is a game of skill. Each entry will be individually judged by TDDU representatives, plus Sponsor representatives relevant to their category.
  2. Entrants must correctly fill out all required details and fields, including required evidence and documentation to support any claims made in relation to the via the direct entry form on TDDU website, or social media pages (where applicable) to be eligible to win.
  3. Up to three category entries per dog will be accepted.
  4. Valid entries will be shortlisted by a representative of the Promoter during the Promotional Period with shortlisted entries shared with Sponsor representatives relevant to their category.
  5. Shortlisted entries will be reviewed by the Promotor and Sponsor representatives from 22 May to Friday 31 May 2024 with 9 finalists for the 4 x categories (Most Talented, Everyday Heroes, Hardest Working, Sporting Legends) and Over Winner, plus 1 finalist for each of the size categories (Miniature/Small/Toy, Medium, Large & Giant) and the Overall Winner being the oldest dog of all selected at this time.
  6. Winners will be decided at the judge’s discretion and based on the information and supporting documentation, videos and photographs supplied, and agreeing to appear on TV if selected.
  7. The winners will be notified in writing by email within two (2) business days of the judging process.
  8. Entrants under 18 years old must have parental/guardian approval to enter and further, the parent/guardian of the entrant must read and consent to these Terms and Conditions. Parents/guardians may be required by the Promoter to enter into a further agreement as evidence of consent to the minor entering this promotion.
  9. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity and address and proof of claims made about the dogs skills, awards and/or age) and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, or who submits and entry that is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry, or who submits an entry that the Promoter, in its sole discretion, deems to be offensive including but not limited to profanity, animal cruelty, potentially insulting, scandalous, inflammatory or defamatory images or language, or otherwise not in keeping with the spirit of the competition.
  10. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  11. Directors and employees of the Promoter and its agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter.
  12. All entries become and remain the property of the Promoter and agencies associated with this promotion and the Promoter may use the entrants name and photographs for any commercial purpose, including future promotional marketing and publicity purposes, including Sponsor marketing initiatives.
  13. The Promoter reserves the right to withdraw or amend the competition as necessary due to circumstances outside its control.
  14. All prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable* and non-redeemable for cash.
  15. Individual prizes may also be subject to their own Terms & Conditions regarding their use or redemption to be advised at the time of distribution to the winner.
  16. The overall winner for each of the 5 x categories will receive a prize pack to a maximum value of $2155.48 including:
  • 1 x $250 PETstock gift card redeemable in-store or online at petstock.com.au
  • 12-month supply of Big Dog Pet Foods to maximum RRP of $500
    • Specific product selection and options for redemption via a local retailer to this maximum value will be agreed between the winner and Big Dog Pet Foods. The Big Dog product range can be viewed at bigdogpetfoods.com.
  • 12-month’s supply of Credelio Plus Flea, Tick & Worm treatment (to maximum value of $328.98)
    • Product to be supplied as 2 x 6 monthly packs, required size TBA by winner.
  • 12-month supply of Antinol (to value of $544.50), 
  • VitaPet dog treats (to maximum value of $250)
  • Buddy & Belle Orthopedic Lounge Bed (to value $200)
  • 1 x signed copy of Lara Shannon’s Eat, Play, Love (Your Dog) book RRP $32.99
  • Category Trophy & Sash. 
  1. The 9 finalists for the 4 x categories (Most Talented, Everyday Heroes, Hardest Working, Sporting Legends) plus 1 finalist for 3 of the 4 size categories (Miniature/Small/Toy, Medium, Large & Giant) (the 4th Dog will win the Overall Winner prize) also be mentioned, or featured, on TV and win a $50 Petstock giftcard and a copy of Lara Shannon’s book ‘Eat, Play, Love (your dog) RRP $32.99. Individual category sponsor prize values do vary and include:
  • Sporting Legends:12-month supply of Antinol  (to value of $544.50)
  • Everyday Heroes: 12-month supply of Credelio Plus Flea, Tick & Worm treatment (to value of $328.98)
  • Oldest dog: 6-months’ supply of Big Dog Pet Foods (to the value of $200) & 12-month supply of Antinol  (to value of $272.85)

  • Most Talented: Vitapet treats (to the value of $300) 
  1. If the prize winners are under the age of 18 years, the prize will be awarded to the winners’ nominated parent or guardian on the winner’s behalf.
  2. If any part of the prize is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize to the equal value and/or specification.
  3. Subject to the unclaimed prize draw clause, if for any reason the Finalists or Winners do not redeem the prize by 1 August 2024 then the prize will be forfeited and a new overall winner will be selected from the Finalists.
  4. Total prize pool value is $28,098.17 The prizes, or any unused portion of the prizes, are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
  5. By entering the competition, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these rules.
  6. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not accept the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter the prize will be forfeited by the winner. Cash will not be awarded in lieu of the prize.
  7. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act or similar consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion.
  8. Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) if the competition is delayed, postponed or cancelled for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (f) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; or (g) use of the prize.
  9. The personal information required by the Promoter for the purpose of contacting each winner is protected by the Privacy Act 1988.  The Promoter will not disclose this information to other parties in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988, other than to TDDU Sponsors for relevant marketing purposes and to notify prize sponsors and suppliers that are required to directly contact and liaise with prize winners in relation to the redemption of their prize.  The Promoter will also use and handle PI as set out in its Privacy Policy, which can be viewed at https://thedogdownunder.com.au/privacy-policy/
