From wrangling snakes to protect loved ones, saving Koalas from fire, detecting disease, staying by the side of a loved one in need, or raising the alarm of trouble, there are many tales of heroic dogs that have saved lives, even at the cost of their own. We’re celebrating our silent heroes by sharing their stories of greatness far and wide, so let us know of a dog you think deserves this award. Posthumous recognition will also be considered.
What you’ll need when entering: A photo or video of your dog. Please provide their background story and details as to why they deserve to be recognised as an Everyday Hero.

Hardest Working

Does your dog, or one you know, deserve recognition for their tireless dedication to their job? We want to hear about those hardworking herders and faithful flock guardians, police dogs on the beat and four-legged heroes going to war. Scent detectors sniffing out trouble, and canine’s providing assistance to people in need. Share your stories of those dogs with jobs that go above and beyond the call of duty, and what makes them a cut above the rest.
What you’ll need when entering: A photo or video of your dog hard at work. Provide as much background and interesting facts or awards that makes your dog with a job extra special and deserving of this award.

Sporting Legends

From obedience trials to agility and flyball, dock jumping and disc dogs, sheepdog trials, sled dog racing and much more, we are searching for our canine sports stars ready to impress with their athletic prowess and sporting attitude to life.
What you’ll need when entering: A video of your sporting legend participating in their favourite sport, at home or at an organised event. Provide details of any noteworthy achievements, awards or activities to support your entry.
Oldest Dog

We are searching for Australia’s oldest dog. Could your pooch even take over the World’s Oldest Dog title, once held by an Australian cattle dog named Bluey, who died in 1939 at the age of 29 years and 5 months Note: One finalist will be nominated for each size category, with the oldest dog across all categories earning the crown.
Small, toy and miniature breeds
Weight: 1kg to10kg. Example breeds: Chihuahua, Toy Poodle, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Dachshund, Miniature Schnauzer, Maltese, Pug, Boston Terrier, Italian Greyhound,
Medium breeds
Weight: 11kg to 26kg. Example breeds: Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Australian Cattle Dog, Cocker Spaniel, Standard Poodle, Border Collie, British Bulldog, Beagle, Whippet, Dalmatian, Airedale Terrier.
Large breeds
Weight: 26kg and 44kg. Example breeds: Labrador, Golden Retriever, Rottweiler, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Greyhound, Doberman, Old English Sheepdog, Husky, Maremma.
Giant breeds
Weight: 45kg or more. Example breeds: Great Dane, Bullmastiff, Newfoundland and Dogue de Bordeaux, Irish Wolfhound, Bernese Mountain Dog.
What you’ll need when entering: A photo &/or video (see specifications above), plus upload copy of Date of Birth documentation (i.e.: Birth certificate, Microchip certificate, Council Registration, Adoption Paper with letter from Vet, if birthdate is unknown, offering a professional opinion of approximate age).
